There are moments in life that you know are quick snapshots in time, imprinting it’s memory instantly on your heart for the rest of your life.
Luckily for me, I had one such moment this past weekend.
Many in my life know this already, but I am married to the most thoughtful, heart-centered, loving man on this earth. I am beyond blessed by his friendship, partnership, and willingness to show me what love truly is. I am simply humbled and grateful every day to have found this kind of love in this lifetime.
Anyway, back to the weekend.
I woke up grumpy.
I knew it. I owned it.
Living in the same city your entire life can do that to you now and then. It just does. Call it stir crazy, bored, whatever. But what I called it this past weekend was this….”I cannot do the Rio Grande Zoo for the seven millionth time, go to Nickel City for the five thousandth time, or hike the same trails in the foothills that I’ve been on ever since I was still young enough to sit on my dad’s shoulders.” ugh.
Haha. Yes, GRUMPY. I told ya.
That afternoon I had a beautiful, fall maternity session with the sweetest couple and their 2 year old son. Dousing myself in Joy Essential oil, playing in the leaves and capturing a family’s love always such an honor. By the time I got back home I was in a much better mood. Out of my funk and ready to spend a date night and dinner in with my hubs.
Little did I know what he had up his sleeve.
A special, signature, evening cocktail (cranberry Moscow mules) made and ready when I walked in the door. Steaks grilled my favorite way…on our Cabela’s camping grill, and foil packet potatoes with bell peppers and sweet onions. Yum.
While he was busily preparing our dinner he asked me to head out to our RV and grab his favorite steak seasoning that we took on our last trip. When I opened the door of our camper it took me a second to realize that fairy lights were hung all around, the table set with my grandma’s table cloth and a small vase of baby’s breath was a simple decoration on the tabletop.
Ok…here’s one the most amazingly sweet, considerate, and supportive things he did…he filled the diffuser with a date night blend of essential oils! I mean, come on, right!?
(Above diffuser is Young Living’s Desert Mist Diffuser)
It was such a fun, out of the ordinary night with my honey. Great company, yummy food, and a date to any where we wanted to be when we closed our eyes and imagined being there.
Thank you, love, for “getting me,” and for helping me to remember that anything or anywhere is with in our reach. I love you.
